The latest and final X-Men: Apocalypse trailer has landed, so bear with us as we try to remain calm. The nearly three-minute teaser is really quite good. It’s got all sorts of things you’d want in a final trailer: cities burning, mutants fighting, nukes launching, lasers blasting, the Wolverine a-clawing..
‘SCUSE ME WHAT DID YOU SAY.
Yeah. Logan’s back. To sum it up in one word: ASDFJKLDSAJFJASDKFDSKAJFIJSADKJFAS.
Totally casual, right? NBD, just the Return of the Mack and all that jazz. The final X-Men trailer gave us what we’ve all been waiting for; realistically, there was never a single, solitary chance that Wolverine wouldn’t show up in this film. With Hugh Jackman set to hang up the claws after Wolverine III, it only makes sense that he would play a role in the epic showdown with Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen.
Some fans will undoubtedly resent having Logan’s big reveal spoiled just a month before the movie debuts. From a monetary perspective, it was inevitable. Fox Studios really only has two *stars* to speak of (Wolverine and Deadpool), so they’ve made damn sure that fans know exactly what they’re paying for in X-Men: Apocalypse.
The Ol’ Canucklead is back, baby!
Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has been involved in every X-Men film since the very first installment back in 2000. That’s nearly two decades spent sporting the same sketchy haircut, so we can’t blame him for calling it a day after Wolverine 3.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27, 2016.
Hugh Jackman’s last Hoorah, Wolverine 3, is set to debut on on March 3rd, 2o17.
